Zimuyuan Museum

Hefei zimuyuan museum is located on the edge of Hefei Science Island, covering an area of about 35 mu. It has a large collection of classical furniture, wood carvings, stone carvings, porcelain, bronzes, coins, stamps, etc. it also has the landscape of Southern Anhui dwellings, ancient pavilions, archways and so on. The positioning of the museum is the integration of collection, exhibition, research and exchange.

Development history

In recent years, private museums have sprung up in Anhui Province. There are 30 private museums in Hefei, 12 cities and 18 counties. These personalized private museums with rich regional characteristics and rich historical and cultural atmosphere have become the new highlights of the development of Anhui museum industry. According to the statistics of the Provincial Department of culture, the earliest building of the museum is the China shoes Museum in Sixian County, Suzhou city. It was built in 1990 and has a collection of more than 3000 pieces of ancient and modern shoe culture exhibits. The large-scale museums include Huangshan wancuilou Museum, Anqing Wanjiang Cultural Park, Chizhou xiushanmen Museum, Wuhu Huizhou architectural art museum, Hefei zimuyuan Museum, etc. The first private museum approved by the provincial government is Anhui yuanyuanhui culture and folk custom museum, which was approved by the Provincial Bureau of cultural relics in June 2003, becoming the first batch of private museums approved by the government in China. Huangshan's private museums have the largest number of institutions, collections and influence in the whole province. It has 12 private museums of various types, with themes related to historical celebrities, folk culture, folk crafts and other fields, becoming a useful supplement to the state-owned museums.

The museum is divided into six sections

The first part: ancient dwellings. Focus on Huizhou ancient dwellings, ancestral halls, Hefei local Ming and Qing flower hall.

The second plate: stone carving, memorial archway. Such as stone lion, high relief stone immortal, high relief arch, stone arch, brick arch, stone arch, wooden arch, etc.

The third part: Ming and Qing furniture. Such as the ancient bed, armchair, hanging screen, mahogany double-sided power plug-in screen, nanmu Qiaotou case, Huanghua pear wine table, etc., there are three styles of carving: jingzuo, guangzuo and suzuo.

The fourth part: Ming and Qing porcelain, ancient coins. Such as blue and white figure vases, high foot bowls, blue and white double edged elephant trunk bottles, yinting of Song Dynasty, yinyuanbao of Qing Dynasty, three birds and one yuan commemorative coin of Sun Yat Sen, etc.

Section 5: War souvenirs. It is mainly the bayonets from the time of the eight countries allied forces to the first World War, the Second World War to the present. It also contains military uniform, military cap, badge and so on.

Module 6: miscellaneous. Such as the group of silk fairy map, gilded wood Buddha, White Jade incense burner, etc.

The museum will open for free on May 18, 2008 (the 32nd International Museum Day).
