According to the legend of people who have lived here for a long time, a large family surnamed Zhang lived in this alley in the Ming Dynasty. They often gave alms to charity. In summer, they gave up summer soup, in winter, they opened porridge farms and gave up cotton padded clothes. Therefore, this hutong is called "Zhang Shanjia Hutong". The whole picture of Qianlong capital in Qing Dynasty was renamed "Zhangfan Hutong". The name of this place is still used today.
