Meiling National Scenic Spot

Meiling National scenic spot is located in the middle of the western mountain range, 30 kilometers away from the western suburb of Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It is on the southwest Bank of Poyang Lake and faces Lushan Mountain in the north, covering an area of about 150 square kilometers.

Meiling National scenic spot is a mountain type natural scenic spot, the birthplace of Chinese classical music and Jingming sect of Taoism.

history

Meiling was called Feihong mountain in ancient times. It is said that in the late Western Han Dynasty, Wei Meifu of Nanchang County abandoned his official position to practice Taoism here. Later generations built Meixian altar on the mountain, so it was renamed Meiling.

Meiling has a total area of about 150 square kilometers. Its main peak, Xiyao lake, is 841 meters above sea level. It has 99 peaks, more than 50 natural and artificial lakes, caves, strange rocks, springs and waterfalls, valleys, sea of clouds, Buddha's light, ancient trees and famous trees. It is full of sceneries. It integrates masculinity, beauty, wonder and seclusion, making it the most beautiful natural scenery in the suburbs of Nanchang. Meiling forest coverage rate of 67%, the average temperature in summer is 22 ℃ 25 ℃, known as "xiaolushan".
