Faxi Temple

There are three famous temples in Tianzhu Mountain, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, which were called "Tianzhu three temples" (commonly known as upper Tianzhu temple, middle Tianzhu temple and lower Tianzhu Temple). They are all famous ancient temples in Hangzhou. Xiatianzhu temple was founded more than 1660 years ago, and shangtianzhu temple was founded more than 1000 years ago. Emperor Qianlong of Gaozong of Qing Dynasty named Shangzhong xiasanzhu as "Faxi Temple", "Fajing Temple" and "Fajing Temple", and inscribed the temple forehead personally. The three temples in Tianzhu have similar history, close regions, the same religious views, and common prosperity and decline. They are known as "Tianzhu Buddhist kingdom" in history.

Built in the 10th century, shangtianzhu temple is the birthplace of Guanyin in white, with a history of more than 1000 years.

Tianzhu, in the south of Lingyin Temple, surrounded by mountains, there are three ancient temples: xiatianzhu, zhongtianzhu and shangtianzhu, all of which are dedicated to Guanyin. There are also many cultural relics such as fanjingtai, qiyetang and sanshengshi.

Shangtianzhu is about one kilometer away from zhongtianzhu. The temple was founded in the Five Dynasties (907-960) when the king of Wu and Yue reigned. It was renamed "Faxi Temple" in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. It is the largest temple among the three temples in Tianzhu. There are Sutra collection hall, Liangfeng hall, thousand Buddha Pavilion, Shuiyue building, Huanghua hall, etc., which are well-known at home and abroad. Around the temple are Baiyun peak, Ru Dou peak, Ru Dou spring and Baiyun spring. The famous Faxi temple was built in the Five Dynasties of Wu, Yue and Warring States.
