Lingshi mountain

It is located in the southwest of Sanxing village, Dongzhang Town, Fuqing City, Fujian Province. In the meantime, the ancient trees are towering and luxuriant. The steep mountains form various natural scenic spots. The famous ones are jiudiefeng, liuxuefeng and baoyufeng. Among them, jiudiefeng is straight and steep, just like a sharp sword, piercing the clouds. There is also a stone on the mountain. It is said that it can sing. If it rains for a long time, it will rain for a long time.

Beside the shady stone road leading to Lingshi temple, there is a huge stone with the word "Xiangshi" engraved on it. The volume of the stone is as big as an ordinary house. If you touch the stone with your hand, you can keep the fragrance on your hand. If you smell it with your nose, you can smell the fragrance. Despite all the vicissitudes, Lingshi mountain is also named for its fragrance. In addition, there are Tongtian stone, Xianrenyan, xilongtan, Biyu cave and other scenery.

A pavilion was built on the mountain. When Zhu Xi, a neo Confucianist of the Song Dynasty, visited the pavilion, he wrote a plaque for it, saying: "cangxia Pavilion".

Scenery

The central axis of the temple is the mountain gate and the main hall. On the left and right sides of the temple are spacious corridors. Beside the two corridors are fa hall, bell and Drum Tower, Zen room, Zhaitang, guest room, etc., forming a group of large-scale buildings. Among them, the main hall is very spectacular. It is a civil structure building on the top of Xieshan mountain with double eaves. It covers an area of more than 500 square meters, with three rooms 11 meters deep and three rooms 5.2 meters wide. Each room faces 40 degrees south by East. Its column base is a Lotus foundation of the Tang Dynasty, with a diameter of 1.08 meters. It has well basin style wooden frame beams, caisson painted dragon and Phoenix, flying sky, lotus and peony. In the temple, there is a woodcut "the complete picture of Tianshou temple, which is a piece of original wood like a black stone tablet. It is said that it was given by Emperor Yizong of Tang Dynasty. The picture is engraved in the shade. There are temples and nunneries, pavilions and pavilions, peak rocks, ponds and streams, palaces and temples, Liaoyuan, bridges and pavilions, and tombs. In addition, there are clocks, drums, incense and rice stones made in different ages.

On February 25, 1981, Lingshi temple was listed as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the county.

history

Lingshi temple is located under Furong peak, the main mountain of Lingshi mountain. Founded in the first year of Tang Dynasty (847). At the beginning, it was built as an nunnery by the two surnames of Lin and Zhao, and by the monk yuan Xiu who often recited the "Qi Ju Lu mantra". In the fourth year of Dazhong (850) of Tang Dynasty, jingshe, named CuiShiYuan, was founded. Yizong of Tang Dynasty granted "lingshiqutang yuan" with 36 nunneries. Temples flourished in Song Dynasty and declined gradually after entering Ming Dynasty. In 1615, the temple was restored. At that time, ye Xianggao visited the temple and presented a poem "Lingshi visited my Zen master". In 1633, the second year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the Zen master Daopei raised money to build the heavenly king's palace and rebuilt the main hall, which has been preserved to this day. However, there are only six plinths in Tang Dynasty. During the period of the Republic of China, temples were repaired. During the "Cultural Revolution", Buddhist statues and religious implements were destroyed. After 1979, the temple property was gradually returned. In April 1984, master Miaoxian was invited to revive the temple. The county people's government appropriated funds for the renovation of the main hall. All kinds of Buddha statues are donated by overseas Chinese monks, mages and believers. A new mountain gate was built in 1986. In 1987, the temple was renovated, and the Buddha statues of Sakyamuni, dizang Bodhisattva and eighteen Arhats were completed.
