Kangle park early building complex is located in Kangle village, Henan Xingang Road, Guangzhou City (now the site of Sun Yat sen University). It was founded in the late 1880s.

Site introduction

Lingnan University was originally a missionary school, formerly known as Gezhi Academy. It was founded in the late 1880s. The site of Lingnan University was originally located in Zhongxian Street evangelical hall, Sipailou, and later renamed Lingnan School. He moved here in 1904. In 1912, it was renamed Lingnan School, and in 1916, it became Lingnan University (University of Arts and Sciences). In Guangdong Higher Education in the early years of the Republic of China, Lingnan University was in a leading position in terms of scale, teachers, equipment, teaching and so on. Sun Yat Sen visited Lingnan University three times, delivered speeches and made donations, hoping that the students of Lingnan University would shoulder the responsibility of building the Republic of China. In 1927, Lingnan University took the lead in taking back the management by the Chinese. In 1952, when the national colleges and universities were adjusted, the liberal arts and science departments of Lingnan University were merged into Sun Yat sen University, and the original site was changed to the site of Sun Yat sen University.

The existing buildings in the central area of Lingnan University site include the buildings along the central axis from the south gate to the north gate, magangding foreign professor's dormitory in the East, Guanghan palace in the southeast and Chinese professor's dormitory in model village in the West.

When Lingnan University was founded, overseas Chinese from all over the world enthusiastically donated. Among them, the buildings along the central axis, such as Zhang Bishi hall, Huaishi hall, Tan Jiageng hall, Rongguang hall, Luyou hall, Java hall, Shiyou hall, Zhang Chenglou, Lingnan affiliated high school, affiliated primary school complex, Ma yingbiao's wife nursing home, Ma yingbiao's Hospital, etc., were donated by overseas Chinese.
