Rongshan Lake Scenic Spot

Located in the center of Guilin City, Rongshan Lake scenic area is a Lianxin lake connected with water bodies. It is bounded by Yangqiao, with Shanhu Lake in the East and Ronghu Lake in the West. It gets its name from the banyan trees growing on the lake bank, Cunninghamia lanceolata. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was a moat in the south of the city, called Nanyang river. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was called Jianhu. In the Ming Dynasty, the city was expanded to become an inner lake.

Development history

Since the Qing Dynasty, the rich gentry and famous people have settled down on the lakeside, and the literati and poets have become the center of Guilin's cultural activities. Tang Jingsong's wumeitang villa has been built successively. Wang Pengyun's ancestral home is Xiyuan, Li Zongren's official residence, Bai Chongxi's Guilu, and Ma Junwu's former residence. Now most of the former residences have disappeared, only Li Zongren's official residence and Gui Lu are left. Beidou bridge is located in Ronghu lake, connecting the island in the center of the lake in the East and the ancient South Gate in the West. The layout of the bridge is based on the distribution of Beidou star, so it is called Beidou bridge. All the railings on the bridge deck are made of Fangshan high-grade white marble, which is the longest white marble bridge in Guangxi. The whole bridge is beautiful in shape, exquisite in workmanship and crystal clear.

Sun Moon tower

The sun and moon towers are located in the middle of Shanhu lake. The sun tower is a copper tower in the center of the lake, with a height of 41 meters and a total of 9 floors. The moon tower is a glass tower, with a height of 35 meters and a total of 7 floors. The two towers are connected by an 18 meter long underwater aquarium. All the components of the copper tower, such as tash, tile surface, angle, door arch, queti, doors and windows, column beams, roof and ground, are made of steel and decorated with exquisite copper murals. The whole copper tower covers three of the world's tallest copper towers, the world's tallest copper buildings and the world's tallest water towers. Ronghu

Ronghu is located on the west side of Yangqiao, connecting Taohua River to the West and Shanhu lake to the East. It is named after the ancient banyan trees growing in the lake rock.

Shanhu Lake

Shanhu lake is located in the east of Yangqiao, which leads to Lijiang River in the East and Ronghu Lake in the West. It is named for its long fir trees.

Rongshan lake is one of the water systems of two rivers and four lakes around the city, which can best reflect the landscape pattern of "city in the scenery, scenery in the city".

Take bus No. 91, 201, 202 and get off at Wumei Road station. Walk west along Wumei road to Ronghu road and go straight east.
