Construction concept

Changsha Xiangjiang middle road locomotive Square Park stands beside the Xiangjiang River scenery belt with nostalgic sentiment. The park is a unique landscape with old steam engine locomotives and several iron cars. It once became a place for Changsha citizens to nostalgic and foreign tourists to play.

Construction background

The Guangdong Han railway was built in 1898. It passed through Changsha on the way and was opened to traffic in the 1930s. The old Changsha South Railway Station was built in 1934. It is adjacent to the Xiangjiang River, making the land and water transport closely linked, played an important role in the Anti Japanese war. In 2004, it was incorporated into the management of the north railway station. In July 2007, the old Changsha South Railway Station was officially shut down, ending its 73 year historical mission.

Located on the Bank of Xiangjiang River, the locomotive Square Park is not big, but the landmark building in the park, steam engine locomotive, is a unique memory of Changsha City.

. Several citizens are taking photos around the mottled steam engine locomotive. Taking photos in front of the locomotive is considered by the citizens to be a sense of vicissitudes. According to records, the old South Railway Station of Changsha was built in 1934. At first, there were only two railways. Later, the railway was gradually expanded, with warehouses and awnings. It is an important coal circulation base in Changsha. In July 2007, the old South Railway Station was shut down and demolished. In 2010, it was rebuilt into locomotive Square Park.

The reporter learned that the old steam engine locomotives in the theme landscape of the park were the last batch of locomotives made by Tangshan Locomotive and rolling stock factory of the former Ministry of Railways in 1975. When it was just completed, the front of the car with red and black paint stood up, the car shell was painted with green paint, several cars and awning tail cars basically retained the old-fashioned tables, chairs, luggage racks and other facilities, and the park also retained the coal wharf landscape, which once became a good place for Changsha citizens to nostalgia and foreign tourists to play.
