Hunan University of Finance and economics is an ordinary undergraduate college of higher education which was upgraded from Hunan College of Finance and economics in March 2010 with the approval of the Ministry of education.

Facilities and staff

In 2007, the new library was built and put into use. It is a landmark building of the college and realizes automatic management. Equipped with computer network and automation system, office automation system, monitoring system, central air conditioning, etc. The space adopts open large bay layout, implements the integrated management of collection, borrowing and reading, with 2500 reading seats.

The library is a two-tier institution of the college, with information technology department, circulation and reading department, acquisition and editing department and office. There are 32 staff in the library, 50% of them have bachelor's degree or above, and 2 of them have master's degree. All the staff have professional titles, including 2 deputy senior titles, 8 intermediate titles and 22 junior titles. 、

Collection resources and characteristics

Paper literature: the construction of literature resources in the library is mainly to purchase basic and applied professional books, periodicals and digital resources for teaching services according to the specialty setting of the college. At present, the library of Hunan University of Finance and economics has a collection of more than 940000 books, with 971 kinds of Chinese periodicals, 25 kinds of foreign periodicals, 181 kinds of newspapers, and a full set of photocopies of the National People's Congress. Mainly in finance and economics, political law and management literature, covering humanities, social sciences and some engineering majors. Digital resources: in terms of digital resources construction, our library adopts two ways: self construction and co construction and sharing. At present, our independent databases are: China journal full text database, China doctoral dissertation full text database, China excellent master's dissertation full text database, China important conference thesis full text database, China important newspaper full text database, China reference book database and China Yearbook database. In addition, we independently purchased 205000 kinds of digital books from founder of Peking University, times canon, scholar's home and superstar company. In addition to the self purchased digital resources, our university has joined the co construction and sharing project of Hunan University Digital Library. Teachers and students can use the digital resources of Hunan University Digital Library through the network. At present, there are 15 databases available: VIP Chinese Sci tech journal database, Chinese Social Science Citation Index, Chinese Science Citation Database, Chinese and foreign patent information service platform, Wanfang China standard full text database, China disease knowledge base, Beida fayi.com and national regulations database 》Xinhua Online Dow Jones database, China information bank online database (full text database), EBSCOhost series databases, English simulation practice platform, Tongfang university examination system, Bo Kan, CCTV education video resource database.
