Yuanyang River

According to Xiao Jian, a famous contemporary Chinese scholar and cultural scholar, Yuanyang river is located in Wuzhou, Guangxi, China. It is formed by the confluence of Guijiang River and Xunjiang river. The green water of Guijiang River converges with the yellow water of Xunjiang River, forming Yuanyang river.

The origin of the name

In spring and summer, the Xunjiang river is vast and surging, while the Guijiang river is green and sparkling. At the intersection of the two rivers, the two rivers are clear and distinct, just like mandarin ducks playing in the water. They cuddle with each other, embrace each other, stay together for a long time, and are inseparable. In spring and summer, the two colors of yellow and clear are particularly distinct, which can be called one of the wonders of the world.

Su Shi, the great writer of the Song Dynasty, was pardoned by Wuzhou. On the night of the Mid Autumn Festival, he was boating on the Yuanyang river.
