Dexing township is located in the northwest of Longxi County, bordering Fuxing town in the East, kezhai Township in the south, Shuangquan Township in the West and Weiyuan County in the north. Historical evolution

Dexing township was renamed after Rende township. It belonged to Rende Township before liberation; Dexing township was set up after liberation in 1949; Luchuan Township and Dexing Township were set up separately in 1953; after communization in 1958, Dexing Township, Luchuan Township and Fuxing Township were merged to form Fuxing commune, which is the Dexing management area of Fuxing commune; Dexing commune was set up in 1961; it was changed into Dexing Township in July 1983.
