Huaer ditch

Huaergou is located in the southeast suburb of Tianshan District. Huaergou tourist area has rich landforms, distinctive features and various types of tourist destinations. Due to its unique geographical environment and climate conditions, it has derived a series of strange natural landscapes and added a sense of mystery and attraction. Huaergou, formerly known as "Heishuigou" and "luanshigou", has poor soil conditions and is mostly weathered gravel. At the end of 1996, the people's Government of Urumqi listed the huaergou barren mountain greening project in the city's "three mountains and one ditch" greening project. Tianshan District will be used as the green land for unified arrangement, management, planning and greening.

Human history

Huaer ditch is 6.2km southwest of Xindi township government, and there are nearly 1000 mu of flowers and plants in the ditch. As the name suggests, it is a beautiful and historic place. During the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, because of its remote location, fertile land and abundant water, it was suitable for planting all kinds of crops. In order to get rich, local farmers secretly planted flowers (i.e. big smoke) in the ditch. At that time, the war in Xinjiang had subsided, and Zuo Zongtang's troops were demobilized. One of them, President Tian (equivalent to the commander in chief), took a fancy to this place and led several sworn brothers to dominate the Huaer valley. He planted flowers and sold opium there and made a lot of money. After President Tian became rich, he got 15 wives in a row and gave birth to more than 20 children. As the saying goes: "he who is close to Zhu is red, and he who is close to Mo is black.". President Tian's family are addicted to drugs. They are all thin and pale, and it's hard for them to move. At this point, he regretted it. But it's easy to take drugs, and it's hard to detoxify them. The more the whole family takes drugs, the deeper they get. Without big smoke, they roll around in bed and call their parents. In his anger, President Tian asked his subordinates to plant all the flowers, but it was too late. His whole family was poisoned too deeply, and finally his family was ruined. Today, there are no more flowers planted in Huaer ditch, but the name of Huaer still spreads in people's words. Huaer ditch in history has become the past. Today's huaergou is no longer the big fireworks of the past, but the colorful natural flowers. They are the flowers of more than 20 kinds of precious medicinal materials, such as radix paeoniae rubra, Fritillaria, Saussurea involucrata, Astragalus membranaceus, Codonopsis pilosula, Angelica sinensis, bupleurum, and so on. It was once used as the shooting site of the science fiction film the legend of Skyfire.

Tourism information

After several years of hard work, huaergou has become a beautiful and pleasant huaergou tourist area. The existing planning area of huaergou tourist area is 3700 mu, and 2100 Mu has been afforested, with the construction of yinyingtang, Hehuachi, longqiutan, Yueya Lake and Bajiao lake. A Longling Pavilion and a grape corridor At 250 meters, there are Wolong bridge and Longxiao bridge, which form a natural, simple, colorful and unconventional plant landscape in key scenic spots such as Liuhua River, yurt and ethnic style garden restaurant. The green stream flows down from high, splashing with water flowers. A clear stream slowly flows into Yueya Lake, presenting a long rain and green landscape, and the flowers beside the stream are high and low Scattered, colorful, constitute a rich and colorful three-dimensional landscape.

When you walk into Huaer ditch, tall poplars stand tall and straight, like gatekeepers welcoming you. You don't worry, turn around a bay, and then climb a stone ladder, you can reach the top of Shixia. At this time, you look around, and there is another cave in front of you. You can see that the mountains are covered with green grass, pines, cypresses, birch, Gleditsia sinensis, and so on. The Huaer Valley is dotted with lush green, and the mountains are green. A hundred birds are singing in the woods, bees and butterflies are dancing in the flowers, and a beautiful scene of nature will make you drunk and forget to return.
