Zeng Zhaoyuan

Zengyuan, formerly known as xukuoyuan, covers an area of more than 20 mu. It was originally part of the site of the "xiaowangchuan" garden of Qiandai, the censor of the Ming Dynasty. It was purchased by the Zengyuan family during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty.

It has been more than 120 years since it was built by Zeng Zhi, a doctor of the Ministry of punishment in Guangxu of Qing Dynasty. Xiang is a famous classical garden in Jiangnan. Zeng Pu, a famous writer and translator in modern China, once spent his youth and old age in the garden. In terms of gardening art, the center of the garden is the open water in the middle, and the landscape is arranged around the pool. Pavilions, pavilions, pavilions and pavilions are well arranged. They fold mountains and manage water. The layout is exquisite. The long corridor is winding, the willow dyke is lying on the waves, and the flowers and trees are scattered. The scenery changes step by step. In particular, the scenery of Yushan Mountain, the scenery of water and mountains, the beautiful scenery of heaven, make people relaxed and happy, and become the leader of Jiangnan classical gardens. Zengyuan is famous for its 16 sceneries, such as guigengke Dulu, Shuitian chatting and Junzi Changsheng room (now Zengpu Memorial Hall). Among them, the ancient red bean tree and camphor tree are the relics of xiaowangchuan garden in Ming Dynasty. Known as "double treasure". It is still full of vitality and precious.

Main attractions

Zhao garden, also known as Shuiwu garden, is adjacent to Zeng garden. It was built between Tongzhi and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. It was also part of the site of "xiaowangchuan" garden of Qiandai, the censor of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty. Wu Junji, a native of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty, raised fish with bamboo. There was a pond with lotus fragrance for several Li. So it's called "water garden". Between Tongzhi and Guangxu, Zhao Liewen, who resigned from his official post and lived in Changshu, rebuilt the garden and built "tianfanglou", "nengjingju", "liufengqiao", "Jingxi", "meiquanzhisheng", "rufang" and two rockeries, thus becoming a famous garden in the south of the Yangtze River. In terms of gardening art, the garden takes water as the main body, and the scenic spots are all built around the pool, which is skillful and appropriate. Like Zengyuan, it was introduced into the garden by taking Yushan Mountain as its scenery, with a total of one garden. Walking in a garden is like swimming in a painting.

In January 2005, the two gardens were renovated, merged and opened to the outside world, and were called Zeng Zhaoyuan
