Dongshan temple was first built in the period of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. It has a history of more than 1300 years. According to the records in the annals of Lin'an County, the emperors of Qian's dynasties worshipped Buddhism, widely built temples and pagodas, and carved buddhas on cliffs. According to historical materials and popular among the people, the temple was donated by Qian, the third son of King Qian Wusu, and built in 1101 ad.

Su Dongpo, a great writer of letters, once left a poem of "carrying the misty people alone to the East and West Mountains". It is here that all these are related to the religious atmosphere at that time.

Dongshan temple was located in Wuli, northeast of Lin'an, after several twists and turns during this period. Dongpu temple, formerly known as "Dongshan hall", was built by Qian Liu, king of Qian Wusu. This place is called Dongshan in history, so it is called "Dongshan Temple".

However, due to historical changes, the original Dongshan temple was in disrepair for a long time. At present, due to the needs of social development and economic construction, in order to fully implement the national religious policy and meet the needs of the broad masses of believers, the original "Dongshan Temple" was renamed "Dongpu Temple" with the approval of Lin'an Municipal People's government, and it was moved and expanded into a clean, elegant and modern Zhonglin temple.

With the support of the majority of believers, the construction of Dongpu temple is progressing smoothly and the incense is becoming more and more prosperous.

Most of the buildings, such as the main hall, Zhaitang and accommodation, have been completed one after another. The pagoda in the plan and other buildings such as Shisheng hall and Yansheng hall need to be started.
