Kunming waterfall Park

Kunming waterfall Park, also known as Niulanjiang waterfall Park, is located in the new Shanshui District in the north of Kunming, Yunnan Province. It is the water intake of the water supplement project from Niulanjiang to Dianchi Lake. It is a comprehensive facility construction project integrating Kunming urban drinking water channel, landscape improvement, Dianchi Lake treatment and other functions.

Waterfall Park flows to Kunming through more than 100 kilometers of water diversion pipeline, and an artificial waterfall park is built in Kunming, the destination of water diversion to Yunnan.

Waterfall park landscape area makes full use of the natural fall of Niulan river water diversion terrain to build an artificial waterfall with a height of about 12.5 meters and a width of about 400 meters, which is known as "the largest artificial waterfall Park in Asia".

About the park

Waterfall Park started construction in 2013, with a total investment of about 1.1 billion yuan. The park is located in Niulan River - Dianchi Lake water supply Panlong River entrance section, enter the park to feel the air humidity increased significantly. The waterfall landscape area of the park makes full use of the water diversion project from Niulan River to Yunnan to form artificial waterfalls and lakes. It takes advantage of the elevation difference of about 12.5 meters to build an artificial waterfall with a width of about 400 meters. A view bridge is built on the water surface in front of the waterfall for close viewing. It is reported that the artificial waterfall is the largest in breadth, flow and scale in China.

Kunming waterfall Park, as an important supporting project of Niulan river water diversion project, is a water landscape theme park built with the purpose of connecting Niulan River drinking water project, creating ecological landscape of Panlong River inlet and improving flood control conditions of Panlong River. The main construction contents include water outlet project (including upper, lower pool and waterfall), revetment of Panlong River section of lower pool, reconstruction of Jinzhi River, reconstruction of original municipal pipelines, landscape and supporting buildings

You can take subway line 2 or no. 182, 906, 168 to Sijiaying bus station, and then transfer to a direct bus to waterfall park. The special line departs from 7:00 to 17:00 every day and runs every 7-8 minutes

The line passes through Sijiaying (subway Sijiaying station), Beijing Road of Kunming Shizhong (subway Sijiaying station), Fengyuan intersection (Beijing Road), south entrance of Wayao Village, north entrance of Wayao Village and Kunming waterfall park.

Kunming West to park through train

The through train from Qiuyuan community to waterfall park will be opened on 16 June 2016. The operation time is from 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. the departure interval depends on the passenger flow, and the public can take it.

Kunshi road to waterfall park through train

From Kunshi intersection to waterfall Park, departure time in the morning: 9:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00; return time in the afternoon: 14:00, 15:00, 17:00, fare: 5 yuan.

The line is a direct customized bus line, and there is no stop in the middle of the line. People near Panjiawan and xiaoximen can take the bus nearby. In addition, the line only operates on Saturdays and Sundays, and will be officially opened on January 16, 2016.

Waterfall Park started construction on January 16, 2013, covering an area of 484.4 Mu and water surface area of 209 mu, with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan. The whole park is expected to be completed before the end of this year and will be open to the public at that time. At present, the longest artificial waterfall in Asia is Panlongshan waterfall in Liuzhou, Guangxi. Its main waterfall is about 220 meters wide and 12 meters high. When completed, the waterfall in Kunming waterfall park will present a giant waterfall landscape with a straight line width of 300 meters, a spread surface length of 400 meters, a water surface length of 340 meters and an elevation difference of 12.5 meters, which will replace Panlongshan waterfall as the longest artificial waterfall in Asia.

Tourist flow

During the new year's day of 2016, Kunming waterfall Park (hereinafter referred to as waterfall Park) is open to the public free of charge. As the largest artificial waterfall in China, it attracts a large number of people to watch, and buses are almost crowded. During the new year's day, there are 7000-8000 people going to watch the artificial waterfall.

According to reports, the two branch buses, no.z46 and no.z65, passing through waterfall Park, originally had an average daily passenger flow of 500-600 people, but during the new year's day, the passenger flow increased by more than 13 times, reaching 7000-8000 people a day. In order to cope with the sudden surge of passenger flow, the team launched an emergency plan, which not only increased the number of bus trips, but also joined large buses to evacuate passenger flow. After the long holiday, the passenger flow to see the waterfall has begun to decline, but the residual temperature has not completely dissipated. At present, the team is still carrying out the corresponding additional treatment.
