Hongyuan Temple

Hongyuan temple, formerly known as Wushi temple, was built in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the Shiyan Lake Hot Spring Resort in Bao'an. After several wars, it has been restored many times, but only the ruins are left. In October 1999, with the strong support and concern of the party and governments at all levels, the restoration work was officially launched. In 2008, master Yin Shun, vice president of China Buddhist Association, took over the abbot of Hongyuan temple.

General situation

Hongyuan temple, formerly known as Wushi temple, was built in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the Shiyan Lake Hot Spring Resort in Bao'an. After several wars, it has been restored many times, but only the ruins are left. In October 1999, with the strong support and concern of the party and governments at all levels, the restoration work of Dharma protection, great virtue and ten good faith was officially launched. It took several years. The first phase of the project: the main building of Daxiong hall, Tianwang hall, bell tower, Drum Tower and corridor is improving day by day. There is an endless stream of people coming to offer Buddhist services, and the normal Buddhist activities of the temple are also gradually unfolding. In 2008, Hongyuan temple, as the lower house of Hongfa temple, was taken over as Abbot by Yinshun monk. Adhering to the Zen style of benhuan old monk, Yinshun monk plans to build the largest Buddhist College in China to cultivate Buddhist talents and continue the wisdom of Buddhism. The second phase of the temple planning project has been officially launched in 2009, which will be worshipped in the main hall The total height of 9 meters of copper gilded Sakyamuni Buddha, Manjusri Bodhisattva, Puxian Bodhisattva statues and altar are being processed. The Sutra building Dharma hall project is also preliminarily completed. The zushi hall, Jialan hall, abbot building, Wuguan hall, Yunshui building and other supporting facilities are also being planned and implemented.

Architectural features

Hongyuan temple is built close to the mountain, with green trees, quiet and elegant. There are three halls and six bell towers, one on each side of each hall, symmetrically arranged. The three halls are distributed from front to back, from low to high, and up the mountain. The first hall in front of us is "everyone is happy", and the second is "Tianwang hall" and "Daxiong hall". Chinese Buddhist culture is integrated with these architectural structures and forms. The surrounding bell tower, guest hall and related inscriptions are towering and solemn. Cigarettes curl in the big censer in front of the main hall.

Hongyuan temple is located in Shiyan Lake Hot Spring Resort, about 40 kilometers northwest of the center of Shenzhen. It is also a lake on the back of the mountain. The whole scenic area covers an area of 3.9 square kilometers, including 2.4 square kilometers of water surface, 1.2 square kilometers of green area and 45000 square meters of building area. It is famous for its unique natural Yulu hot spring, and its simple and elegant Spanish buildings stretch like a river With a variety of abstract sculpture embellishment, the environment is quiet and pleasant. There are more than 300 guest rooms and villas in the village with luxurious hot spring sauna bathrooms, restaurants managed by famous Chinese and Western chefs, romantic cafes and large-scale song and dance halls, as well as high-grade large, medium and small karaoke rooms and shopping malls. There are complete set of large, medium and small conference rooms. In addition, there are open-air hot springs, tennis courts, horse racing grounds, standard swimming pools, English billiards rooms, bumper cars, video games, fireworks, barbecue and many other recreational projects. It's a pity that the past glory has disappeared here. In recent years, in order to protect the water quality of Shiyan lake, some amusement projects have been stopped.
