Didang Lake Park is located in Shaoxing national high tech Zone, next to Didang new city. It is the last piece of water area in the second ring road of Shaoxing, covering an area of about 3700 mu, including 1700 mu of water area. It is a typical "Lake in the city" of Shaoxing water city landscape.

Overall project

According to the approved planning of Didang Lake Park, the water surface will be expanded to 2000 mu through water system renovation. On the basis of making full use of the rich historical relics of Didang lake and drawing lessons from the successful experience of other cities in Lake development, Didang Lake Park will become a regional comprehensive park integrating ecological leisure, cultural entertainment, tourism and vacation through the construction of municipal infrastructure such as roads around the lake and the creation of landscape environment.

Design concept

According to reports, Didang Lake Park is mainly composed of Didang Lake renovation project, Meilong river renovation project and Meilong river railway bridge project, which connects Meilong river with Didang lake and crosses Hangzhou Ningbo railway. Although flood control and drainage, improvement of water environment and restoration of water area are the primary functions of Didang Lake Park project, designers have integrated leisure, culture and state into the whole design concept, trying to make Didang Lake Park a new business card of Shaoxing City. The design of Didang Lake Park combines traditional and modern ideas. These scenic spots reflect Shaoxing's traditional silk culture, the butterfly themed culture of Liang and Zhu, the youth playground and water activity base for tourists to play, and the landmark cloud tower, which will be located on the Butterfly Island in the main lake of the park. It's no exaggeration to climb on the tower and overlook the lake. The bridges in Didang lake are divided into Navigable Bridge and non Navigable Bridge. The first type of bridge requires modern form, unique shape, new materials and new technology, while the second type of bridge refers to the characteristics of Jiangnan Water Town, mostly traditional classic bridge structure. The design of Didang Lake Park also includes the recreational areas such as the traffic line around the lake, the walking line and the upstream line. It is believed that after the completion of this "Lake in the city", Shaoxing will appear in the world with a brand-new look. The modern Didang new city will complement the antique Shaoxing old city with its charm.

Four more parks around the railway

On the edge of Didang Lake Park, the railway protection and greening project of Didang new town is also under construction. Although there are few passenger trains on Xiao Yong railway, there are still many freight trains passing through this section of railway track, which will have a great impact on the surrounding areas of the railway, especially the construction of Didang Lake Park. In order to minimize this impact, the Management Committee of the high tech Zone built 1771 meters of railway sound insulation retaining wall around the railway, and planted 100000 square meters of greening, including poplar, Camptotheca acuminata, Cinnamomum camphora, duying and other tree species, to effectively reduce noise and smoke pollution.

In addition, the Management Committee of the high tech Zone will use these greening facilities to build four theme parks in the southeast, southwest, northeast and northwest of the railway. The southwest Shaogang workers Memorial Park has been completed and opened to the public in 2012. In 2013, the southeast leisure sports park has also begun to break ground.

According to the person in charge of the construction site, rock climbing, roller skating and other leisure sports will be set up in this leisure sports park for the public to play. In addition, a car cinema will be built in the park's parking lot. It is expected to be open to the public by the end of July 2014.

In the northwest of the railway, it is possible to "move" the Irish Pavilion of the World Expo. In 2013, specific matters are still under coordination. In the northeast, a flower theme park similar to Hangzhou Taiziwan park will be built. In this park, there will be different areas showing different kinds of flowers in different seasons, such as lavender, tulip, jasmine, rose and so on, bringing people the enjoyment of beauty.
