Wuxi Art Museum

Wuxi art museum was formerly known as Wuxi calligraphy and painting academy. On December 7, 1979, Wuxi Academy of calligraphy and painting was established with the approval of Wuxi editorial office (xigebian [1979] No. 33). On September 25, 2004, a new office building of 1135 square meters was built at 79 Qianxi street, Chongan district. In June 2011, according to Wuxi Municipal editorial office (Xi Bian ban [2011] No. 124), Wuxi Academy of calligraphy and painting was renamed Wuxi Art Museum (Wuxi Academy of calligraphy and painting), which is a public welfare institution with full financial allocation under Wuxi Municipal Bureau of culture, radio, television, press and publication.

Wuxi Art Museum (Wuxi Academy of calligraphy and painting) takes "inheritance, innovation, harmony and development" as its tenet and "service, exhibition and academic development" as its policy. It has the functions of exhibition, academic research, collection of fine arts, aesthetic education and promotion of cultural and artistic exchanges and services. It is open all year round and free of charge. The exhibition hall on the first floor will hold permanent exhibitions; the exhibition hall on the second floor will hold theme exhibitions in cooperation with major festival activities of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government; the third floor is the office and tourist rest area; the classroom on the fourth floor is the public aesthetic education place, which will hold calligraphy and painting art lectures from time to time, and hold calligraphy and painting art training classes on Saturdays, Sundays, winter and summer holidays. There are Exhibition Department, creative research department, collection department, public education department and administrative office in the museum. Since the establishment of the Museum (Academy), Wuxi Art Museum (Wuxi Academy of calligraphy and painting) has followed and adhered to the "double hundred policy" and "two for" direction, and achieved fruitful results in the creation of works and theoretical research. It has increasingly become an important window for Wuxi cultural exchange and an important place for people's spiritual life.

Notice to visitors

1、 Opening time

9:00-17:00 every day. 16: There will be no admission after 45. Open as usual on holidays. In case of major tasks, the suspension will be announced in advance.

2、 Ticketing is open to the public free of charge.

3、 Code of Public Civilization

1. No smoking in the library. Please move outside when smoking.

2. It is forbidden to bring dangerous goods and pets into the museum. Please pack the rain gear before entering the exhibition hall in rainy days.

3. Behave politely and dress appropriately.

4. Abide by the Convention of public civilization and code of conduct, do not make noise, chase or fight, keep the exhibition hall quiet and maintain the order of the exhibition hall.

5. Pay attention to cleanliness, and eat food and drink in the designated area outside the exhibition hall.

6. Don't bring more than 40 × 25cm bags into the exhibition area. Extra large bags can be sent to the service desk. Please take good care of your valuables.

7. Please keep a certain distance from the exhibits. Do not touch or damage the exhibits. Children under 1.4 meters in height should be accompanied by their guardians. Guardians must take good care of the accompanying children and educate them not to touch the exhibits.

8. Do not photograph or copy the exhibits without permission. If photography is allowed, do not use flash or tripod to take photos in the exhibition area; if copying is allowed, do not obstruct other visitors.

9. It is strictly forbidden to engage in business activities in the museum.

10. In case of a large number of visitors, in order to ensure safety, the number of visitors will be limited and admission will be carried out in batches.

11. Pay attention to public safety. In case of emergency, please follow the command of the exhibition hall management.
