The four side hall is located in the north of Agricultural College of Shanghai Jiaotong University (from the side door of Agricultural College on Baonan Road, less than 100 meters away). It is a Qing Dynasty building. Like Pavilion like Pavilion, like Pavilion like hall, because its four sides are window Xuan, so it is four side hall. The four sides of the hall are painted with pillars and fine carvings; the stone steps and windows are full of interest with eyebrows and eyes. The north side of simian hall is close to a residential building. Because the historical value of simian hall was not considered during the construction, it is not isolated from simian hall. Because there are many sundries and iron railings, it is a pity that tourists can not go to the north side to comment on simian hall.

Simian hall is unique to Qibao old street in Shanghai. However, due to its remote location, few people know about it.

It is a kind of hall style of private gardens in the south of the Yangtze River, with French windows on all sides, which is conducive to the view on all sides. In addition, there are Yuanyang hall, Hualan hall and louting hall.
