DIAOQIAO nunnery

It is located 5 kilometers into the west gate of Huangshan Mountain. At the foot of Shiren peak, the confluence of Baiyun and baimen streams is 610 meters above sea level.

The origin of history

DIAOQIAO nunnery, also known as Baiyun nunnery, was a Taoist temple before Ming Dynasty and a Buddhist nunnery during Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. Around the nunnery, the scenery is quiet, the mountains are stacked, the pines and stones are strange, the bamboo is green, and the streams are surrounded. Baiyun scenic area integrates pine, stone and spring, which is unique in Huangshan Mountains and waters. Baiyun river is full of water and connected with waterfalls and pools. There are more than 10 suspended waterfalls on the Bank of the river, which are like the sound of a zither. After the rain, the water surges, the torrent rushes, and the sound shakes the valley. The mountains and waters burst out, forming a waterfall, which is as good as practice, splashing beads and jade.

Transportation guide

Through Xihai Grand Canyon to paiyun Pavilion, we can reach the main scenic area of Huangshan peak where tourists gather, and then go down to Tangkou through Guangming peak, Lianhua peak and yupinglou. It's about 35 kilometers.
