The court of joint trial in the French concession, also known as the court of joint trial in the French concession, is the judicial organ set up by the Chinese government in the French concession. It was established in 1869 according to the Constitution made by Shanghai Daotai and the French consul. The court was located in the law department of gongguanma Road (today's Jinling East Road) for a long time, and then moved to xuehuali Road (today's Jianguo Middle Road). The court session was held twice a week. The jury was the French vice consul. All judgments were decided by him, and there was no appellate organ. Lawyers are not allowed to be invited in criminal cases, but only French lawyers are allowed to appear in court if the amount of litigation in civil cases exceeds 1000 yuan. All judicial and administrative affairs of the court are handled by the bailiffs, and the bailiffs are executed by the captors. During the revolution of 1911, the chief executive appointed the members of the hall. In 1927, the court abolished the joint trial of jurors in purely Chinese civil cases, and the Chinese government appointed jurors. In 1930, the French collar published the general rules of the court of the French concession, allowing Chinese lawyers to appear in court. In July of the next year, according to the agreement between the national government and the French minister, the court was replaced by the second court of the Shanghai Special Economic Zone and the third branch of the Jiangsu high court.
