Shixuan Gorge

Shixuan gorge, located in Baili Gorge Scenic Area of Yesanpo, is 45 Li long. It is named because there are more than ten cliffs with different shapes distributed in the gorge.

Scenic spot description

Not far from the canyon, you can see a cylindrical valley with a diameter of 30 meters and a height of 20 meters. It is like a huge urn. A clear spring flows down from the mountain, forming a waterfall with a drop of 15 meters. At the bottom of the valley, there is a deep and unpredictable pool of water, which is called "yanniu Lake". It is said that in ancient times, there was a severe drought, and even though the Ma River was cut off, people from dozens of miles around came here with donkeys to carry water. However, a bison in the mountain also came here to drink. He was so overbearing that he hurt many mountain people. When the Jade Emperor knew about it, he sent a long bearded catfish spirit to live in the lake secretly. One day, the bison came here to drink water again. With a probe, catfish essence put up its long beard, tightly entangled its horns, stretched it hard, dragged the bison into the lake and drowned, so it was named "channiu Lake".
