Shanghai Putuo park is located in Putuo District, south of the light rail pearl line, north of Suzhou River, east of Dongxin Branch Road, covering an area of 19.78 mu, about 13187 square meters, including 6841 square meters of green area, 4759 square meters of Road area, 1086 square meters of recreation area, 154 square meters of living and office area and 347 square meters of service facilities.

Development history

Putuo Park was built and opened in 1954. It is the earliest Park in Putuo District and the only park within the inner ring road of Putuo District. In 1998, it was rated as Shanghai standard park. It has been changed into a free park since 1994.

Main attractions

Putuo park has flat top corridor, wisteria frame, jujube red millstone floor, hexagonal pavilions, fitness Park, small recreation facilities, etc. With luxuriant foliage, the Begonia, maples, ginkgo, Wutong, Cinnamomum camphora and cedar were first planted in the park.

Putuo Park was closed for four years in 1991 due to the construction of Shanghai confluence sewage project. In December 1994, the state invested more than 400000 yuan to rebuild the park and reopen it to the outside world. Now there are many flower beds around the park, with flowers blooming all the year round. According to the growth habit of plants, the plant community was rationally allocated, including 824 trees (340 deciduous trees and 484 evergreen trees), 2088 shrubs, 535.6 meters hedgerow, 6670.2 square meters ground cover plants, 38.4 meters vertical greening, 138 meters broken walls, 267 square meters flat top corridor, purple pergola, hexagonal pavilion and other small facilities, The park is a good place for people to visit, relax and keep fit.
