Abbey Apartments
The monastery apartment, located at 62 Fuxing West Road, was built in the 1930s. It consists of two floors, namely a two-story building and a three story building. The two buildings are connected by a corridor, which is the embodiment of the style, because Spain is facing the Mediterranean, rainy due to the monsoon, and hot in summer. Each floor of each building is composed of two residential units, including three rooms, four rooms and five rooms. The appearance and interior decoration of the building are Spanish style and well preserved.
Historical development
On September 25, 1989, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Shanghai and the first batch of excellent historical buildings in Shanghai.
The original name of the monastery apartment, many people misunderstand as a monastery, in fact, has nothing to do with the monastery, just take the same name. The apartment used to be the residence of the British wool factory owner, and now it is the Hunan sub district office.
