Minsheng Modern Art Museum

"Thirty years of Chinese contemporary art · paintings 1979-2009" sponsored by Minsheng Modern Art Museum opened in Shanghai on April 18, 2010. The exhibition is the opening exhibition of Minsheng modern art museum. As an art gift during the World Expo, it displays more than 100 component works of more than 80 artists.

Based on the academic perspective of contemporary construction of Chinese art, the exhibition tries to objectively, truly and comprehensively reflect the historical, cultural and artistic situation. By showing the history and works of Chinese contemporary art since the 1980s, this paper systematically combs the context, trend of thought and historical facts of Chinese contemporary art in the past 30 years, thus becoming the largest and most comprehensive research presentation of Chinese contemporary art in the past 30 years. As an important part of the exhibition, many contemporary art participants, artists, curators, critics and representatives of art institutions will be invited to hold a large number of lectures and organize relevant educational activities during the three-month exhibition period.

The exhibition of Minsheng modern art museum is about Minsheng Modern Art Museum, which is officially open to the outside world. At the opening dinner, Zhou Tiehai, executive director, received a check with a face value of 30 million yuan from Zhao pinzhang, vice president of Minsheng Bank, to operate the art museum, and set up Minsheng Contemporary Art Award, etc. Although the basic paradigms of Chinese contemporary art are all imported from the west, in an era of global symbiosis of capital and system, Chinese avant-garde art has found an ambiguous way of existence in its own unique context.

Cooperation and exchange

On April 2, 2010, Minsheng Modern Art Museum, a public welfare art institution initiated by China Minsheng Bank, signed a letter of intent with the Ullens Contemporary Art Center. The signing of the cooperation agreement creates a precedent for the cooperation between domestic public welfare art institutions and international art centers.

It is reported that after a long period of contact and discussion, the Minsheng Modern Art Museum and the Ullens Contemporary Art Center respect each other's artistic values and judgment on the development direction of Chinese contemporary art, respect the advanced tradition, historical significance and value of cultural exchanges between China and the West for the development of Contemporary Art, and recognize the historical significance and inclusive development of the openness of Chinese culture and art On the basis of the situation, we are committed to promoting the active atmosphere and creative development in the field of Chinese contemporary art.

According to the agreement, Minsheng Modern Art Museum and Ullens Contemporary Art Center will share resources and information in many fields, such as exhibition, foreign exchange, institutional personnel training, research project cooperation, publishing, collection research and use, so as to provide sustainable development power for the construction of Chinese cultural modernity.

Guy Ullens, founder of Ullens Contemporary Art Center, attended the signing ceremony. He stressed that as early as when the Ullens Contemporary Art Center was settled in 798 Art District, the art center took it as its mission to become a voice and catalyst for the latest creation of Chinese contemporary culture and art. In order to achieve this goal, the art center is in urgent need of public recognition, support and support while actively supporting art projects and launching a large number of public education projects. The cooperation with Minsheng Modern Art Museum at the interlibrary level is undoubtedly a big step towards the operation of the Art Center rooted in China.
