It was originally built in the mergen Garden (located in the campus of Peking University). It was moved in 1886 (the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty) when the summer palace was rebuilt. Its stone color is green and moist, and its shape is strange. It looks like the birthday star, so it is named.
