Fangshan World Geopark museum is located in Changgou Town, Fangshan District, Beijing. Changgou town is the core area of Fangshan World Geopark in China. Fangshan World Geopark museum is the landmark building of Fangshan World Geopark in China. Built in 2009, it is the first world-class geological museum in China before 2010. In 2006, this modern museum was built in Fangshan World Geopark, which was awarded by UNESCO.

On May 15, 2010, the Fangshan World Geopark Museum covers an area of 91.65 mu, with a main building area of 10000 square meters and an exhibition area of 5800 square meters. It is divided into six areas: Specimen Exhibition Area, tourist information consulting service center, popular science education and scientific research exchange center, 4D motion picture hall, exhibition sales hall and office reception center. There are 18000 square meters outside the museum There are more than 100 types of rock, animal and plant fossil specimens, more than 3000 cases, more than 20 model installations, more than 40 multimedia demonstrations, and 1000 square meters of model scenes in the exhibition area. With the theme of "Earth evolution, biological evolution and human evolution", the exhibition has five functions of "popular science education, leisure tourism, geological research, publicity and exhibition, and information exchange".

Ji Xianjiang, director of the Fangshan World Geopark management office, said that the World Geopark should have a museum displaying geological technology and culture as required. After completion, the Fangshan World Geopark museum is positioned as a public welfare, with first-class environment and facilities, which can meet the needs of tourists to visit and understand Fangshan World Geopark. After the completion of the museum, it will become a place for scientific research and popular science education in the capital and a physical database for Fangshan geological research. At the same time, as the symbol of Fangshan World Geopark in China, it will also become a beautiful business card for the outside world to know Fangshan.
