Red Gate Gallery was founded by Australian Brown Wallace in 1991. Over the past decade, Red Gate Gallery has regularly organized six to eight individual exhibitions every year, as well as joint exhibitions of Red Gate Gallery artists in summer and winter. In addition, Red Gate Gallery has always been based on establishing a wide range of international and domestic contacts, holding Chinese art exhibitions and joint exhibitions of Chinese and foreign artists at home and abroad for many times, and introducing foreign contemporary art to China for the development of Chinese contemporary art The exhibition has made great contributions to the art exchange between China and the West.

Introduction to Red Gate Gallery

Red Gate Gallery promotes Chinese contemporary art and represents more than 20 outstanding Chinese artists. They come from such famous fine arts institutions as Central Academy of fine arts, School of Arts and crafts of Tsinghua University, Sichuan Academy of fine arts, School of fine arts of Shanghai University, School of art of Harbin Normal University, etc. their works cover many kinds of painting and art categories, such as oil painting, print, Chinese painting, sculpture, comprehensive materials, installation, performance art, etc. Some of them have studied in well-known foreign universities, some often participate in exhibitions and academic exchanges in large foreign galleries and pavilions, and some have lived abroad to participate in international art activities. Most of these artists occupy an important place in the contemporary Chinese painting world with their distinctive personal style, solid artistic foundation and outstanding artistic achievements.

Introduction to the exhibition:

Two generations - 20 years of Chinese contemporary art is the 2012 roving exhibition and cultural exchange project of Red Gate Gallery. The exhibition will be held by clover Moore, mayor of Sydney As Beijing's most representative Red Gate Gallery announces to hold a National Art Tour in Australia called "experience China - Australian year of Chinese culture", the Australian audience will welcome a visual feast.

Founded in 1991, Red Gate Gallery is the only contemporary art gallery in China with the deepest qualifications and respected by the industry. Since its inception, the Red Gate Gallery, located in the corner of DongBianMen, has been regarded as a pioneer in the industry. It promotes the active posture of Chinese contemporary art on the international stage.

"Two generations" will display the works of 11 senior Red Gate artists and include the works of young and emerging artists who are admired and nominated by these artists. The works of the two generations will be put together at the same time, showing the achievements of the previous generation of artists and revealing the future of the later generation. In this eclectic and meaningful exhibition, we will see a collection of works of different styles and media, such as paintings, paper works, photography, sculpture and installation, which will fully reflect the dynamic and evolving contemporary art.

While touring the exhibition, we will invite "two generations" of artists to attend the opening of the exhibition, and participate in the public forum and "artist stay" project arranged by our cooperative organizations and educational institutions during the exhibition.

With the help of Copyright Agency Limited, we will invite some young Chinese curators to work with Catherine Croll to manage each exhibition. These curators will be introduced to gallery directors, well-known or emerging non indigenous artists and Australian indigenous artists. In this way, these curators will have the opportunity to hold exhibitions on Australian artists in China in the near future and stay plans for Australian artists.

Introduction to the exhibition:

Red Gate Gallery is honored to announce that the 8th annual exhibition of contemporary print 2012, entitled "harmony", will be held soon. Initiated by artists Zhou Jirong and brown Wallace (founder and artistic director of Red Gate Gallery), the project was officially launched in 2004. It aims to expand Red Gate's participation in the charity activities of various charitable organizations in China, and intervene and solve the main social problems that constitute the background of contemporary Chinese art development. The beneficiaries of this activity are children's villages in shepherd's land, which specially care for orphaned, disabled and poor children in China. This time, a total of 50 calendars will be sold, and 60% of the money collected will be donated to shepherd's children's village.

In the 2012 calendar, seven outstanding artists with different styles were invited to create one by one. Artists in the calendar include he Kun, Lu Peng, Kong Guoqiao, Su Xinping, Xu Baozhong, Zhang Guanghui and Zhou Jirong. The calendar of 2012 is limited to 50 editions, and the price of each calendar is 5888.00 yuan.

The opening reception of the event will be held on Saturday, November 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Red Gate Gallery, Jiaolou, DongBianMen. The exhibition will last until December 11, and the calendar sale will last until the end of the exhibition. Some of the calendars of the past few years will also be sold.
