Qichun Garden Palace Gate

Located in the east of Qichun garden, the palace gate of Qichun garden was built in 1809 (the 14th year of Jiaqing). It is a complete building that survived the looting and burning of Yuanmingyuan. In 1987, at the original site of qichunyuan palace gate, the inner and outer palace gates, palace walls and corner gates were restored as the gate of ruins park.

[introduction] located in the east of Qichun garden, the palace gate of Qichun garden was built in 1809 (the 14th year of Jiaqing). It is a complete building that survived the looting and burning of Yuanmingyuan. In 1987, at the original site of qichunyuan palace gate, the inner and outer palace gates, palace walls and corner gates were restored as the gate of ruins park. （in 1987, two new gates-the outer and inner gates-sere built, together with palace walls and side gates. They now serve as the main gates to the whole park.）

[repair] after a long period of exposure to the sun and wind, the building components of the gate of the Qichun garden of Yuanmingyuan were damaged to varying degrees, especially the paint on the gate posts had fallen off, exposing the internal materials. In 2003, according to the research of Yuanmingyuan Management Office, the restoration project of qichunyuan palace gate area was started. After the renovation, the ground of the new square of qichunyuan palace gate was leveled and the big palace gate was painted. This is the first renovation since the restoration of qichunyuan palace gate area in 1986.
