Simatai reservoir

Simatai reservoir is a small type II reservoir for flood regulation and irrigation. The capacity of Xingli reservoir is 227000 m3, and that of flood regulation reservoir is 213000 m3. It has a dam, spillway, two water pipes and a power station. The reservoir hub is mainly composed of a main dam, spillway and water pipeline.

The dam is a masonry gravity dam with a maximum height of 21.8m and a crest length of 93m. The spillway is crest overflow. The installed capacity of the power station is 160 kW. There are hot springs in the upstream of the reservoir and Jinshanling Great Wall in the north.

The crest elevation is 292.42m, the bottom width is 35.5m, and the maximum discharge is 543.8m3/s. Since the establishment of the reservoir, due to the large drainage area and good water supply conditions, the reservoir water level often reaches 292.42m (weir crest). The reservoir has reached the design standard sdj12-78 issued by the Ministry of water resources.
