We have held a variety of children's cultural and artistic activities throughout the year, actively opened up a reader's garden, and established a Book Circulation station in mountain village schools. In 1997, the district government allocated 450000 yuan, and Hong Kong Jinri Group Co., Ltd. donated 650000 yuan twice. A total of 1.1 million yuan was used to build a new library at the original site, which was listed as a private practical project of the district government in 1998. On May 31, 1999, Tongan children's Library and Jinri children's library were completed and opened to readers. Over the past few years, Shaotu district has won the commendation of the Ministry of culture of the people's Republic of China and the awards at provincial, municipal and district levels. With the efforts of the whole library, Shaotu district was awarded the honorary title of the fifth and sixth (provincial) civilized unit by the Fujian Provincial Party committee and the provincial people's Government in 1995 and 1998.
