Chen Huacheng Temple
Chen Huacheng ancestral hall, or Chen Gong ancestral hall, is located on the east side of No. 15 Park West Road, Xiamen. In 1842, after Chen Huacheng died for his country, Chen Shengyuan and Xiamen gentry built this ancestral hall to worship him.
After that, it was seriously damaged. In 1983, the municipal government allocated money to repair it. The ancestral hall faces south in the north, with brick and wood structure on the top of hard mountain. It is 11.5 meters wide and 16.3 meters deep, covering an area of 188 square meters. From south to North on the central axis are the front hall, patio and main hall. The stone plaque of the main gate is engraved with three characters of "Chen Gong Temple" in regular script, and the couplets in regular script are engraved on both sides of the gate: "the big tree is floating, and the name of Dai Xun is preserved in Beihai; the spirit is in the town, and the beans are in the south for thousands of years.". There is a wooden plaque hanging on the back of the gate, on which there are four words of "great spirit forever" pasted in regular script. The first one is "respectfully praising the posthumous Mr. Chen Gongjun, and the second one is" marking Mr. Chen Shengyuan and Mr. Shang Tongli ". In the main hall, the title of the title was "general Jianwei ordered the whole province's navy commander in the south of the Yangtze River to confer the posthumous title of Zhongmin, who became the Duke of Chen.". The ancestral hall is a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
