In March of the 10th year of Datong (544) of the Southern Dynasty, Xiao Yan, Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty, visited Beigu mountain. Facing the spectacular scenery in his chest, he improvised six words of "the best River and mountain in the world", which is still famous. The stone carvings left are the works of the Qing Dynasty.
