Taishici tomb

Taishici tomb is located at the south foot of Zhongfeng, Beigu mountain, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. The tomb is 1.7 meters high and 3 meters in diameter. It is built on a stone platform with a length of 6.7 meters and a width of 7.4 meters. The North retaining wall is 6.8 meters long and about 2 meters high. In front of the tomb, there is a marble tablet with a height of 1.43 meters and a width of 0.7 meters, on which are carved seven big words "Tomb of taishici from the East". The tomb of taishici has long been missing. It was discovered when the city wall was built in 1872, and then repaired many times. Before the Anti Japanese War, it was renovated. At the beginning of the people's Republic of China, it was buried because of the collapse of mountains. The present tomb was rebuilt in 1985. There is a tablet in front of the original tomb, which briefly describes his life and deeds, but it has no longer existed.

Personage introduction

Taishici (166-206) Zi Yi, Donglai Huangxian (now Shandong) people. In the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, he was a military general, and served as a commander in Jianchang. Bow and horse skillfully, arrow method is excellent.

Life

He used to be a subordinate of Liu Yao, but was later demoted by sun CE. From then on, Tai Shici became sun's general, helping him to sweep Jiangdong. Sun Quantong later entrusted Liu Pan with the important task of managing the South because of taishici's ability to control him. When he was young, he asked Liu Bei to withdraw from the yellow scarf army to relieve Kong Rong's encirclement, and Kong Rong became a "good friend of his youth". Later, he went to qu'a (now Danyang, Jiangsu Province) to follow sun CE and assist Sun Quan in building war achievements. He successively served as Zhonglang General of Zhechong and Duwei of Jianchang. In 206, the 11th year of Jian'an, he died before the battle of Chibi. Before he died, he cried out, "when my husband is born, he should take a seven foot sword to ascend the rank of the emperor. If I don't follow my ambition, how can I die! " (the book of Wu and the romance of the Three Kingdoms states that "the eldest man was born in troubled times, so he should take the three foot sword to make a contribution to the end of the world; if his ambition is not fulfilled, how can he die!") At the age of 41, Sun Quan buried him in Beigu mountain.

In the 15th chapter of the romance of the Three Kingdoms, "Tai Shici fights against the little overlord" describes his bravery. The biography of taishici in the annals of the Three Kingdoms gives a detailed account of him.

historical facts

In 208 A.D., two years after his death, the Chibi war broke out. Almost all the generals and counsellors in the early Three Kingdoms emerged and became famous in this war, but Tai Shici was not very famous among the Three Kingdoms because of his early death. In the romance of the Three Kingdoms, Luo Guanzhong allowed taishici to live for two more years. At the Qunying meeting in the romance, taishici was appointed by Zhou Yu as the supervisor of wine. The people who supervised the banquet were not allowed to talk about military affairs. He became the actual executor of Zhou Yu's attack on huanggai, and arranged taishici's death in the battle of Hefei after the battle of Chibi.
