Baohe Temple

Baohe temple, formerly known as Baoqing temple, is located in Lianhua peak of Cangshan Mountain in Dali, Yunnan Province.

Historical origin

Baohe temple is located in Cangshan Mountain, Dali. The fourth peak is called Lianhua peak. Lianhua peak has a branch, commonly known as "chicken foot". According to the records of Dali County, xiaojizu was named Baohe mountain, at the south foot of Lianhua peak. Three forward, one back, and Erhai East chicken foot mountain similar, so called small chicken foot. One of the temples is called Baoqing temple. The earth is very quiet. Around the temple are ancient trees and pines, and Fu Rong and Jiao Yin. " Baoqing temple is also called Baohe Temple because of its mountain. There is an old legend in Baohe temple that the third daughter of Zhang lejinqiu, the White King Xizhou, was named Jingu. She fell in love with the young sinuro, who came to Cangshan to hunt in Weishan, and eloped and married secretly. The White King did not recognize her. Later, King Bai of Guanyin Tuomeng said that sinuro was the heir to the throne of King Bai selected by heaven, and he hoped that King Bai would accept it. So King Bai admitted the marriage and sent someone to pick up Jingu and sinuro on February 26 of the lunar calendar. On the third day of March, the new couple went to Baohe temple, and all the people went to the temple to celebrate. So there was a mountain meeting of Baohe temple on March 3, which has become a mountain Festival.

Prosperous scene

From the beginning of March, people gathered in Baohe temple in full dress. Men and women sang "hualiuqu" of Bai nationality, danced Bawang whip, swam chicken feet, and the crowd was busy all night.
