Pianmiancheng site

Pianmiancheng site is located in the south slope of baishanzuizi hill, Xiuyan village, Baishan Township, Lishu County, Siping City, Jilin Province. Lishu County is four kilometers away from Zhaosu River in the South and Baishan hills in the north. It was called Xiying or jiubaixiying in the Liao Dynasty and Hanzhou in the Jin Dynasty. It was an important town and an important traffic route between the north and the south in the Liao and Jin Dynasties.

Pianmian city is the Mongolian city of Almaty, which is translated into a city with pear trees, namely pear tree city. It's shaped like a slanting human face, so it's called slanting face city. The wall is made of rammed earth. Huizong and qinzong, the two emperors of the great Song Dynasty, were imprisoned here for two years, leaving an important legacy in history.

The remains include gold leaves and dragonflies with unique shapes and exquisite workmanship, and a large number of glazed tiles, green bricks and bronzes are scattered in large architectural sites. A large group of ancient tombs of Liao Dynasty was also found.

Introduction to pianmian City

From Lishu County, Siping City, to the north, there is a hill in the sky, stretching more than ten kilometers from east to west. In the north of the city, it is three or four kilometers in the field. The site of an ancient city is located at present. Along the hillside, the ancient city is surrounded by high walls. The terrain of the whole city is uneven, high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The direction is inclined to the East, like a slanting human face. My old friend called pianmian city. The city wall of pianmian city is a wall. The east wall is parallel to the west wall, and the south wall is parallel to the north wall. Each side is about kilometers long, one meter wide and about five or six meters high. There are doors on the four walls and an urn outside. The north and South doors correspond to the East and West doors. At the four corners of the city wall, there are round high platforms protruding from the wall and higher than the top of the wall. This is the turret. Standing on it, you can see the whole city. Outside the west wall and the north wall, there are moat sites. Pianlian ancient city was first called jiubaixiying in the Liao and Jin Dynasties and was under the jurisdiction of Linjin county. It belongs to Korea and its neighbors. Because jiubaixi camp is located in an important traffic road, it is a necessary place for North-South exchanges. Therefore, in the Liao and Jin Dynasties, jiubaixiying was a very important town. Here, the emperors of the two dynasties, Huizong and qinzong, who had been imprisoned for two years. He left an important mark in history.

Looking into the city, the present pianmian city site is a corn field, several villages and earth barriers (ancient city wall) rising from high to low in the four directions of North, Southeast and West. These four earth barriers are the walls surrounding the ancient city. The walls can be clearly identified. The trapezoidal slopes on both sides of the wall are full of Artemisia and Sanguisorba. The outside of the wall is the moat (ancient moat), and the outside of the moat is a half field It's a green field. There is a carriage wide on the wall. When you walk on it, you can still kick a small amount of bricks and tiles at your feet.

At the end of the Jin Dynasty, after the Mongol army of the Yuan Dynasty conquered Hanzhou City, pianmian city was burned down by fire. The next year, the Mongols used pianmian city as a pasture. When they saw that pianmian city had become a ruins, only a big pear tree growing in the northwest corner of the city was called pear city. For hundreds of years after that, the ancient city has been sleeping in the wilderness.

Because the top of the northwest turret of the city wall of pianmian City, in fact, the whole city wall of pianmian city is made of rammed earth. Because the terrain in the city is high in the northwest and low in the southeast, the direction is inclined to the East, and the plane is slightly square, just like a person's crooked face, commonly known as "pianmian city."

There is a depression 50 meters away from the north end of dongdagou. The local villagers call it "Jinchang". Gold leaves and dragonflies were unearthed. To the east of Jinchang, there are a large number of architectural sites on the Gangdi, with a large number of glazed tiles, green bricks and other relics scattered on the surface. Bronze wares unearthed include bronze mirrors with double fish pattern, bronze mirrors with double dragon pattern, copper seal of Zhuji, the official of baojiasi collusion in Jingdong East Road, and copper pot with tie Liang and gualing. Most of the ironware were six eared pots, molds, plows, etc. There are green glazed three color pots, jade pot spring bottles, porcelain dog bowls, etc.

The city wall is roughly square, with a circumference of more than 8 li. The cross section of the city wall is trapezoidal. The base of the wall is about 30-40 meters wide, the height is 56 meters, and the top is 1 meter wide. Each of the four walls has a gate, and each gate has an urn. There are round turrets at the four corners of the city wall, 1-2 meters higher than the city wall. You can look at the whole city from above. At present, most of the south wall is destroyed, and the highest part of the remnant wall is only more than 2 meters. The west wall is well preserved, with a maximum height of more than 7 meters. The northwest turret is well preserved, with a residual height of 8.6m.

There are moats outside the city, about 20 meters wide. The city is a piece of cultivated land. There are two villages near the south gate and the north gate. The two villages are connected by rural roads. On the west side of the rural road, there are two north-south ditches, commonly known as dongdagou and Xidagou. They run from the city along the mountains through the South city wall to the Taihe river of Zhaosu. The West Ditch is about 520 meters long, the East ditch is about 410 meters long, and the two ditches are about 3-10 meters deep. On the west side of the north section of Xidagou, a large area of architectural sites can be seen. The surface is scattered with building materials such as Dafang brick, cloth pattern tile, animal face tile, lace drip, glazed tile, granite foundation stone, etc. this may be the Daming Temple site. On the east side of the north section of Xidagou, there are some remains, such as broken tiles, ceramic fragments, bronze coins of the Northern Song Dynasty, ashes and bones.

Outside pianmian City, on the North Bank of Taihe River in Zhaosu County, there are a large number of architectural sites. It is the south city of the ancient city. The surface is scattered with broken bricks and granite foundation stones. The local residents call it "xiaomiaodi". In the north of the city, near the north gate, there are many residential addresses. In the East and west of the city are cemeteries, mostly small and medium-sized brick chambered tombs, unearthed clay pottery urn, bronze mirror, Liao white porcelain bowl, sauce Glazed Chicken Leg bottle, etc.
