East Taihang

East Taihang scenic spot is located in the northwest of Wu'an, Handan, Hebei Province. It is named for its location in the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain. The total planning area of the scenic spot is 26 square kilometers, and the highest altitude is 1428 meters. It belongs to Danxia landform with the Grand Canyon of Colorado in the United States. It is a mountain type natural scenic spot integrating the majestic, strange, dangerous, precipitous and skillful stones, sea of clouds, quiet and changeable features of Taihang Mountain.

East Taihang

Cloud plank road

Built on the cliff above 1000 meters above sea level and winding over the ridge, it looks like a dragon. It has all kinds of glass plank road, stone plank road and viewing platform. After completion, it will become the longest ridge plank road in North China. After the opening of the scenic spot, tourists can climb the plank road to feel the magnificence and beauty of the mountain. Because the terrain is high and sunny after rain, there are often white clouds rising along the valley, standing on the plank road and walking on the plank road. History and Humanities

Taihang stretches thousands of miles across Hebei Province. It begins with Huai and ends with you. It is the backbone of the world. East Taihang belongs to Taihang Mountains, steep and rugged. It is the mainstay of China's historical development, and is an important cultural landmark of the emotional belonging of the Chinese nation.

Taihang Mountain has always been regarded as an important place for soldiers because of its precipitous situation. From the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were endless wars for more than 2000 years. In 650 BC, Qi conquered Jin, entered mengmen and ascended Taihang. The Duke of Qi once suspended his chariot to tie his horse to Taihang. In 263 B.C., the state of Qin attacked Korea and conquered Han Xingyang in one fell swoop. In 204 B.C., Liu Bang was trapped between Xingyang and Chenggao. He took Li Shiqi's advice, strangled Feihu in the north, and guarded Baima in the South (now Huaxian in Henan Province).

In the first year of the early Yuan Dynasty of the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 114), in order to prevent foreign invasion of Luoyang, Emperor Han'an issued an imperial edict to garrison troops at 36 main points at the southern end of Taihang. When Cao Cao surrounded Linzhang, Yuan Shang easily led his army out of Taihang, but he was defeated by Cao. In the 19th year of the Jin Dynasty (394 A.D.), later Yan murongchui entered to cut down the Western Yan, and the troops were stationed in the southwest of Linzhang. Murong Yongling of Xiyan ordered all the troops to block the Taihang pass. Murong Chui led his troops into the pass and destroyed Xiyan. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, Li Shimin and Dou Jiande fought. Li Shimin entered the tiger prison, so that Dou could not cross Taihang. Li took the opportunity to occupy Shangdang and take over Hedong. In the 18th year of Yuan Dynasty (1281 AD), Liu Futong led the uprising army to cross Taihang and set fire to the party. In Yuan Dynasty, chahanniemur was stationed in Jingxing and Du Taihang to prevent the uprising army from developing northward.

During the Anti Japanese War, the 129th division of the Eighth Route Army in Hebei and Shanxi, under the leadership and command of Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping, established Taihang district (Shanxi Hebei Henan border region)
