Laotai Temple
The Laotai temple is one of the most popular temples in the area of Qidu Temple harbor.
Old lady Qiu, nicknamed "Qiu Laoli", was originally from Miaogong and an official in Zhenjiang. It is said that when a boat entered Taihu Lake, it would be safe to shout the nickname "Qiu Langli" of old lady Qiu just in case of strong wind and waves. Because it was widely effective, it was granted the title of Marquis of Pingsha in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty and later the title of King Ping. The villagers around it were called "old lady Bodhisattva".
