Zhengfeng coal mine is one of the earliest modern coal mines in China. In 1912, Duan Qirui, Prime Minister and army chief of Beiyang government, absorbed more than ten people from Yan Xishan to raise funds and set up Zhengfeng Coal Mine Co., Ltd. Duan Qirui appointed his younger brother Duan Qixun as the general manager. At that time, the factory hired German designers to build the general manager's office building and the German engineer's office building according to the western style. From design to construction, the requirements are strict. All building materials are good and the best is selected. Radiators and ceramic tiles are imported from Germany. Local people call it "duanjialou".

Duanjialou group has a large scale, compact layout, unique and ingenious structure, fine workmanship and exquisite technology. Its stone and wood carvings are vivid. Among them, Duanjia building group was invested and built by Duan Qirui and his family in 1913, with a total area of 163200 square meters, a construction area of 12000 square meters, and an existing construction area of more than 9000 square meters. It is the largest European style building group well preserved in Shijiazhuang, and also the first batch of industrial tourism demonstration scenic spots in Hebei Province. Zhengfeng coal mine is one of the earliest modern coal mines in China, with a mining history of 100 years.

"The Duan family building has come to the point where it must be repaired, otherwise this century old building will be very dangerous."
