--Hongshan junmachang is located in the core area of wulanbutong ancient battlefield in the southwest of Keshiketeng Banner, bordering Saihanba machinery forest farm in Hebei Province in the South and Hunshandake Desert in the north.

Hongshan military horse farm

Hongshan military horse farm is a branch of Beijing Military Region. It was built in August 1964. It is mainly responsible for the supply and support of troops and horses for border defense forces. The racecourse is located in the core area of the ancient battlefield of Wulanbu Series in the southwest of Keshiketeng Banner (World Geopark) in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia (Wulanbu series is Mongolian, Chinese means red tanxing mountain, which actually refers to big and small red mountains, hence the name of Hongshan army Racecourse). It borders Saihanba mechanical forest farm in Hebei Province in the South and Hunshandake Desert in the north, with a total area of 413000 mu. It is 110 km from Keshiketeng Banner in the north, 105 km from Weichang County in the south, 230 km from Chengde and 468 km from Beijing.

Over the past 40 years, Hongshan military horse farm has transported more than 15000 horses to the army. In 2002, Hongshan military horse farm was successively designated as "national grassland ecological protection demonstration education base" and "army ecological environment protection demonstration education base" by the national Greening Committee, the State Forestry Administration and the Army Environmental Protection Committee. Historical evolution

Historically, this area is the location of turgen yizar paddock, one of the 72 paddocks of Mulan paddock in Qing Dynasty, and it is also an important nomadic area of Mongolian. The Qing emperors held "Mulan ceremony" here every autumn. Kangxi put down the geldan rebellion here, where the famous battle of Ulan Butong took place, leaving behind such historical relics as "general paozi", "Tomb of Tong guogang, uncle Kangxi of Qing Dynasty", "xishuiquan", "Twelve company Camps". There are also legends such as Hengli mountain, Lama mountain and stirring spring to pray for rain.

The shrubs are mainly composed of hubangzi, YINGSHANHONG and shanrose. Rich in mushrooms, yellow flowers, ferns and other natural food. There are 358 kinds of precious and rare Chinese herbal medicines such as Paeonia lactiflora and Bupleurum. It is said that "if you step on three grasses in one step, all grasses are herbs.". Ornamental plants are mainly wild chrysanthemum, yellow flower, Prunus mume, Trollius, etc. There are more than 40 kinds of animals, mainly red deer, yellow sheep, roe deer, wild boar and so on.
