Guihua Park

Osmanthus fragrans Park was built in October 1998, covering an area of 16.5 hectares. It is located in the southeast corner of Suzhou ancient city, adjacent to the booming industrial park. It is surrounded by the ancient canal in the East and by the green water of the Grand Canal in the south. It is one of the key landscapes in the construction of the scenic belt around the ancient city of Suzhou in recent years. Along the southern part of the Yunhe River, there are the ancient city "snake gate" and the 218 meter long water and land tower of Gusu. Along the canal, the two kilometer long Wanyan winding path shuttles through the dense trees of Liuyin Green Island. The lawn is broad, natural and comfortable, which fully shows the characteristics of the water town in the south of the Yangtze River. It is the best place for citizens to relax, take a walk and view.

Osmanthus fragrans park is named after Osmanthus fragrans, the city flower of Suzhou. The flower shrubs in the garden are mainly evergreen plants. There are more than 260 species, including some rare species. Especially with the characteristics of Osmanthus species, the garden is rich in Osmanthus varieties and quantity, ranking first in China.

Park composition

It is the specialized garden with the largest number of Osmanthus fragrans varieties collected and planted in China. In order to build a special garden of Osmanthus fragrans varieties, support the "Osmanthus fragrans varieties garden"

Under the guidance and help of Professor Qibai and Professor Zang Dekui from Nanjing Forestry University, the park organized people to go south to Shanghai, Hangzhou, eastern Zhejiang and Western Zhejiang, and traveled to more than ten counties in southeastern Sichuan to climb mountains and rivers, and found some well-known varieties, such as Jiulonggui, yichuanhong and Xuegui In addition to Osmanthus fragrans park has a certain amount of preservation, other species are rare.
