Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, Kashgar City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region governs the township and four village committees, namely, aktogalangan village, keqiketong village, ayikrik village and Xiaotong village.

It is located in the east of Pamir Plateau, the north of Karakoram mountain and the southeast of Tashkurgan County, about 190 km away from the county.

In 2017, there were 1841 people in the township.

Historical evolution

In the Han Dynasty, it was the land of Puli state in the western regions, and from the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, it was the state of hepanduo, also known as kepanduo. In the Tang Dynasty, it was the guard of Congling in Shule town. The song and Yuan Dynasties belonged to Khotan, while the Ming Dynasty belonged to Yeerqiang. In the 28th year of Guangxu (1902) of Qing Dynasty, Puli branch defense hall was set up, which was subordinate to Shache house. Puli county was established in 1913, belonging to Kashgar road. After the Kashgar administrative region, Kashgar district. Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County was established on September 17, 1954, under its jurisdiction.

Infrastructure construction

In 1986, a small hydropower station was built in Datong Township, with a power of only 20 kW, which can only provide electricity for 60 households.

In 2018, based on the construction of asphalt road from Datong township to the county seat in recent years, Datong Township carried out hardening transformation on the road from the township government to remote villages to improve the travel conditions.

By June 2019, 452 safe houses have been built in Datong Township, realizing the full coverage of safe houses for all farmers.

Before June 2020, the power of small hydropower stations in Datong township is only 40 kW, which can only meet the needs of 130 households near the township government. Generally, power is not transmitted during the day, but stored until the night. In the past two years, photovoltaic power generation has been promoted in families that can not be supplied by small hydropower, but there is no stable and sufficient electricity in the whole township.

On June 29, 2020, the 35kV substation in Datong Township successfully transmitted power and connected to the stable large power grid. It is the last Township in Xinjiang to connect to the power grid, and the power consumption is difficult to become history.

rural economy

Datong rural crops are wheat, corn, peas, highland barley; fruits are apricot, walnut, apple, peach; livestock products are yak, goat, sheep, cattle, horse, donkey, camel. Datong township has four distinct seasons, known as "little Jiangnan", "paradise - Xinghua village" reputation.

In 2004, the gross agricultural output value was 3.605 million yuan, the industrial income was 173 thousand yuan, the per capita income was 1 183 yuan, the number of livestock was 1 1980 at the end of the year, and the total grain output was 564800 kg.

In June 2020, Datong township will focus on animal husbandry.

Administrative village

Aketuoga Langan Village: located about 18 kilometers away from Datong Township, covering an area of about 735 square kilometers, with an average altitude of more than 3600 meters. It is adjacent to brunmusha Township and WACHA township. The village has two villager groups with a total population of 372.61 households and a cultivated area of 438 mu. At the end of the year, there were 4330 livestock in stock, and the residents were highly dispersed.

Aykireke Village: located near the township government, with an area of about 350 square kilometers and an average altitude of more than 2200 meters, it is adjacent to Damus township of Shache County, tatajik ethnic township of aketao county and WACHA township. There are three villager groups in the village, with 154 households, 825 people, 207 labor force, 790 mu of arable land and 3321 livestock at the end of the year.

Kunaikelangan Village: it is located in the southeast of Datong Township, about 10 kilometers, covering an area of about 420 square kilometers, with an average altitude of more than 2000 meters, with a total of 52 households and 215 people. The cultivated area is 480 mu. It is adjacent to Damus township of Shache county and tatajik ethnic township of aktao County of Kezhou.

Keqiketong Village: located in the southwest of Datong Township, about 30 kilometers, covering an area of about 560 square kilometers. It is adjacent to bulumusha Township, Wacha Township and damusi township of Shache county. The total number of households is 63, 386 people, and the cultivated land area is 313 mu. Dongling stone mining enterprise is set up in this village. There is an 18 kW hydropower station and a ground satellite transfer station. Farmers and herdsmen are relatively well-off. Before liberation, the village was named "tongcun", and after liberation, it was renamed "keqike tongcun", which is still in use today.

Historical memory

In 1986, a small hydropower station was built in Datong township. Due to the traffic congestion, more than 200 strong workers in the township took 11 days to carry back the generator from Shache county.
