Fushou Bridge

Fushou bridge is located in the south of Xixi village, Xixi Township, Shouning County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. It was built in the 19th year of Jiaqing period in Qing Dynasty, also known as batouxi bridge. It was repaired in the 19th year of the Republic of China.

Historical evolution

In 1814, ye Shiyu (named Sheng'an) built the bridge under his leadership. In that year, the cost of building the bridge was huge and the responsibility was heavy. In the middle of the construction, the directors retreated because of difficulties. However, ye Shiyu was determined to shoulder the heavy burden alone. He purchased wood and stone in time, invited more than 10 bridge builders to his home for accommodation, generously offered money and paid their wages on time. This move was very touching Fang people from all walks of life, everyone work together, money out of money, powerful out of force.

Wu Zhufang, the main hall of Shouning County, Gao Jingshi, Fang Chunhai, the Confucianist, and Lin Kou, the garrison and other local officials all gave great support to the donation and inscription

Yangzhou is as famous as Yangzhou.

The inscriptions of the officials encouraged the masses and bridge builders, increased the warm atmosphere of bridge building, and accelerated the progress of bridge building.

Corridor bridge structure

The South Bridge is built on rocks, and the north bridge is built with stones. It is 40.7m long, 4.9M wide and 32.8m span. The high water level of the bridge is 15 meters, and the bridge house is a four column nine purlin bucket structure with a north-south trend. The Nanyi bridge is built on natural rocks, while the north bridge is built with stones. 18 Bay, 76 columns, covered with double slope top, wooden benches on both sides, and wind and rain shelter boards under the eaves on both sides.

There is a shrine in the east of the middle of the bridge, where Guanyin is worshipped in the middle, the great emperor in the right and Mrs. Linshui in the left. There are wooden benches on both sides, and under the eaves on both sides there are baffle boards. A bridge pavilion was built to the north of the bridge, which is called zanxian Pavilion, with a hard peak.

There is a small waterside park beside Fushou bridge. It is the waterside lady worshipped in the temple. Mrs. Linshui, commonly known as Chen Jinggu, is a protector of women and children. In the south of Zhejiang, in the east of Fujian and in Taiwan.

In ancient times, due to underdeveloped medicine and lack of medicine, dystocia and premature infant death often occurred among women. Safe and natural childbirth was the greatest wish and hope of women. In order to seek spiritual comfort, the people created Chen Jinggu. Therefore, Chen Jinggu evolved from an ordinary woman to an omnipotent God. History becomes legend, and man becomes God. Chen Jinggu's life experience, magic power and achievements have been greatly exaggerated in Jin Anyi Zhi, the spring and Autumn period of the Ten Kingdoms, and the folk legends linpingyaoji and Mindu Bieji, so as to reproduce different versions of Chen Jinggu's image. However, the folk Buddhists in Fuzhou believe that Mrs. Linshui is one of the incarnations of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and there is a cross penetration of Buddhism and Taoism in Chen Jinggu's belief.

Cultural relic value

It was announced as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in February 2003.
