Xiaolanyu: the southern island of Taiwan's Lanyu area (Lanyu Township, Taitung County). It is a volcanic island with an altitude of 400 meters and an area of about 1.75 square kilometers. It is isolated outside Lanyu. It is the northern end of the Bashi Strait. Yami Island, Xiaolan Island (the northern end of the Philippines), is 96 km (52 nautical miles) away, which is the narrowest part of the Bashi Strait.

It is isolated outside Lanyu. Xiaolanyu, formerly known as xiaohongtouyu, is located in the southeast sea area of Taiwan Island, 5.4km away from Lanyu in the northwest. It belongs to Lanyu township of Taitung County, with a circumference of 4.964km and a slightly trapezoidal shape.

Xiaolanyu is the northern end of Bashi Strait. The distance between xiaolanyu and Yami Island (the northern end of the Philippines) is 96 km, or 52 nautical miles, which is the narrowest part of Bashi Strait.

Xiaolanyu is composed of volcanic rocks, mostly pyroxene andesite, covered with coral reefs. There are three craters to the east of the central part. There are many cliffs and reefs in the East, Southeast and northwest. The island is overgrown with low grass and low-lying trees. Phalaenopsis, a special product, has no resident. The island is full of craters left by the early years when it was used as a shooting ground, as well as countless wild lilies. The highest peak is Mt. Dashen (about 173 meters). There is a weather station on the mountain. When the weather is fine, you can see Xiaolan Island, east coast island and Yami island in the north of the Philippines.
