Koi rock in Tantou

A 33 meter long and 11.5-meter-high blue stone Reclining Buddha was built in jinliyan, bianlan village, Tantou Town, Changle City. This giant Reclining Buddha is made of local materials and is carved on site from a natural whole bluestone rock. Besides, there are 12 2.8-meter-high small Buddha statues. Next to the big Reclining Buddha, the carving started in early 2007. The bluestone rock is extremely hard, which makes the construction more difficult. After three years, it was designed by famous carving masters and carving experts in Chongwu, Hui'an, and more than 20 people gathered in Changle to participate in the carving. The cost of the carving is only 1 380000 Yuan. All of them were donated by local entrepreneurs Jiang Xingdong and Chen Jianming.
