Bridge of the sky

The famous "bridge of the sky" was called "smiling ladder" before it was officially named. Its total length is about 204 meters, connected by 265 steps, and it takes 15 minutes to walk back and forth! It's also suspended between Nantou and Changhua. The bridge deck is 70 meters from the valley. It's definitely a challenge for the brave, but it's also a surprise for you. Looking down from the bridge, you can see the beautiful scenery of Changhua plain.

Skybridge, located in Langkawi archipelago of Malaysia, was built in October 2004, with a total length of 125 meters. The bridge is arc-shaped and the main body is made of steel. It is particularly surprising that such a large and heavy "steel frame" is supported by only one pillar. The pillar is 87 meters high and is fixed on the mountainside. Then it is towed by eight steel cables. The whole bridge is finally "suspended" at an altitude of 687 meters above sea level, connecting two mountaintops. This is certainly the reason why it is named Langkawi sky bridge.

Langkawi sky-bridge is suspended at 700 metres above sea level. This unique curved pedestrian bridge spans 125 metres across a spectacular chasm. The view from the bridge is simply breathtaking. You'd be able to view the Andaman Sea and Thailand's Tarutao Island as well. The 1.8m-wide bridge had two 3.6m-wide triangular platforms that provided a spectacular viewing-cum-resting area for visitors. Unlike straight bridges where you can see from the starting point, the bridge has been curved to provide different perspectives over the land and sea. Convenient triangular platforms located along the curved bridge provide rest areas so you can sit and appreciate both the beauty of nature and an incredible feat of engineering. Langkawi sky-bridge is safe. Considerable thought was invested to provide visitors with a psychological feeling of security. They include a double steel railing at upper body level as well as an enclosed wire mesh and timber parapet below.
