Even if the Hunan Museum is temporarily closed, there is no need to worry about not seeing the famous Mawangdui Han tomb. Since March 29, 2014, the exhibits of Mawangdui Han tomb, which have been closed for nearly two years, have been moved to the planning exhibition hall of Dahexi pilot area in Changsha for free exhibition. Mawangdui Han tomb was excavated in 1972-1974, in which more than 3000 precious cultural relics and a well preserved female corpse from the Western Han Dynasty were unearthed. Lacquer ware as bright as new, gorgeous and soft silk, romantic and magical silk painting, calligraphy on silk and immortal female corpse can be seen here. In addition to the Mawangdui exhibition, other parts of the exhibition hall show Changsha's achievements in economic construction and plans for the future.
