Shimen river tourist area is located in Gaoping Town, Jianshi County, Hubei Province, a tributary of Qingjiang River. The total investment of the scenic spot is 350 million yuan. The scenic spot is a typical karst landform feature, which integrates "secluded, dangerous, strange, beautiful and ancient".

A brief introduction to Shimen Tourism

Shimen river tourist area is located in Gaoping Town, Jianshi County, Hubei Province, a tributary of Qingjiang River. The total investment of the scenic spot is 350 million yuan. The scenic spot is a typical karst landform feature, which integrates "secluded, dangerous, strange, beautiful and ancient". The scenic spot has the site of human origin, the oldest "ancient Bayan road" in southern China, one of the birthplaces of Chinese Ba people and the gathering area of Tujia Nationality in China. Shimen River scenic spot includes Gaoping tourist reception center (including self driving tourist camp), Shimen River sightseeing Bridge Tour belt, giant ape cave ancient nostalgic tour belt, Shizhu Taoist health leisure area, Bajiao village agricultural leisure resort, covering an area of about 180 square kilometers. Shimenguan mountain, known as "the most important scenic spot in Shinan", is an important link between Chongqing and Yichang.

Shimen ancient style scenic area covers an area of about 180 square kilometers, rich in natural and cultural tourism resources. The tourism resources of the scenic spot can be divided into five types, namely, geographical landscape, water scenery, biological landscape, ruins and relics, and regional culture.

Shimen River scenic area is located in Gaoping, Jianshi, Hubei Province. It connects Henan and Shaanxi in the north, Bashu in the west, Jianghan in the East, Xiaoxiang in the south pole, Chongqing and Wuhan, and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Yichang Wanzhou railway and Shanghai Chongqing Expressway cross the whole area. National roads 318 and 209 pass through the scenic area. It is only an hour's drive from the airport and railway station.

On February 20, 2020, Hubei announced that all A-level tourist attractions will be free of tickets for medical aid team members within five years. Shimen River scenic spot is one of them.

Health care Holy Land

It is on the 30 degree north latitude line with Bermuda Triangle, Egyptian pyramid, Mount Everest and Huangshan Mountain in China. Because the area of 30 degrees north latitude has escaped the invasion of Quaternary glacial movement, it has become a refuge for many rare plants. It is rated as "one of the most suitable environments for human habitation" by UNESCO.

The holy land of human origin

The fossils excavated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences along the Shimen River are identified as ancient human fossils by experts. They are named "Jianshi Homo erectus" by the Chinese Academy of sciences because of the traces of artificial hammering on the gravel. This proposition is a powerful challenge to the theory of human African origin.

Holy land of stone culture

This is the hometown of Ba people, the intersection of Chu culture and Shu culture, which constitutes Ba Chu culture, Ba Shu culture and Ba Yu culture. Ba culture is the foundation of Chu culture, Chu culture is the predecessor of Han culture, and Han culture is the main body of Chinese culture.

Strange resources

The scenic area integrates mountain, water, road, cave and feeling. Around the scenic spot, there are ten thousand mu of isolated peaks in Pingchuan, the independent Shizhu temple, the mysterious Chaer River, Shiyazi, the old street of the Republic of China, and liangshuibu, the former residence of celebrities. Shimen River scenic spot enjoys the reputation of "the first ancient people in the world, the first ancient river in China, the first ancient road in Bachu, and the first priority in Shinan". There are three sections of secluded Canyon, natural classic, natural wonders, about 200 scenic spots. Cliff cave, mandaoxiongguan, mangteng ancient trees, birdsong and flowers, isolated from the world, spotless, the scenic spot has the feeling of crossing time and space.
