Malagai Temple (Xian'an Temple)

Malagai temple, named "Xian'an Temple", is located in gongbaolagsumu heishatugacha, Taipusi Banner, Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is a Gelug Temple of Tibetan Buddhism. The temple was built in 1695 and completed in 1724. It was named "Xian'an Temple" by the Qing government. The local Mongolian people called it "malagai Temple" (meaning "hat Temple" in Chinese). There are 428 registered lamas in malagai temple. [2] Malagai temple is the most splendid Temple of the left-wing herdsmen in the former Taipu temple. There are luotuoshanzi temple in the East, dunda temple and xiaomiaozi in the West.

When the malagai temple was first built, the main buildings were the Kachin Hall (two floors), the temple, the drum tower and the temple yard. Later, four main halls and small temple storehouses were built successively, including manba hall, Mizong temple, shilungang hall. Since then, the lamas of five banners have raised funds to build Lama's residence, and five courtyards including Xianghuang courtyard, Zhengbai courtyard, Xiangbai courtyard, Zhenglan courtyard and gelding courtyard. According to historical records, malagai temple is a group of brick buildings, covering an area of about 10 mu. There are a pair of flagpoles in front of the door, about 6 meters high. There are eight courtyards, 60 red pillars, and more than 130 houses. There are four drum towers on both sides of the North and South courtyards, two bronze lions, five main halls, and two Xiang temples on both sides of the main hall, offering more than 20 Buddha statues. There are two Mongolian inscriptions in front of the main hall There are two stone trees planted in the temple. There are more than 350 monks in the temple. Every year on June 14 of the lunar calendar, lamas from far and near gather in the temple to hold rituals.
