The Great Buddha Temple is one of the five jungles in Guangzhou. It was built in the Southern Han Dynasty and has a history of more than 1000 years. It flourished from Shunzhi to Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. It is a famous Buddhist temple in Lingnan. The Great Buddha Temple has always been committed to promoting Buddhism. As early as 1921, the Great Buddha Temple established the "Guangzhou Buddhist reading society" and the first modern Buddhist Library open to the public in the province in 2000.
